Don't harsh his mellow. Cisco Adler is in an easygoing mood on his current single “Don’t Kill My Buzz…” The salute to being “up on the hill with a funny cigarette and a smile” and taking it slow is getting airplay on Los Angeles rock station KROQ. It’s the perfect tune as California voters face a ballot initiative that would legalize pot outside of medical reasons.

Adler, who scored two top 40 singles in 2008 -- “Buzzin’” and “Corona and Lime,” as part of Shwayze -- recorded ‘Don’t Kill My Buzz…” at his home studio in Malibu and filmed the deliberately low-key video, premiering exclusively on Billboard below, around the studio as well. The clip, directed by Brennan Peirson, features Adler strumming the guitar and alternately playing with his adorable young son, Ace. It’s life the Cisco Adler way, and life is good.

“It’s funny, after making so many music videos for so many songs and just the amount of content that’s out there, I was like, 'Let’s just tell the truth,'” Adler says. “And the song, if anything, is a stripped-down version of the truth, so I’d love to just show what makes me happy. And what makes me happy is my everyday life with my family and friends.”

In addition to recording his own music, Adler has been busy producing the music and soundtrack for Rocky Horror Picture Show: Let’s Do the Time Warp Again, which premieres Thursday on Fox.
