Due July 16, the two-disc set will pull together 44 tracks from 13 of the velvety baritoned artist's albums released between 1986 and 1999 by Warner Bros. and DreamWorks.
"Trail of Memories" includes 15 songs that topped Billboard's Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart, including "Diggin' up Bones" (1986), "Forever and Ever, Amen" (1987), "Forever Together" (1991), and "Whisper My Name" (1994). Also featured are a handful of duets with the likes of B.B. King ("Waiting on the Light To Change"), Tammy Wynette ("We're Strangers Again"), Merle Haggard ("All Night Long"), and George Jones ("A Few Ole Country Boys").
Included in the package will be a booklet with rare photos, details of recording sessions, and liner notes by country music expert Robert K. Oermann, whose book "Little Miss Dynamite: The Life and Times of Brenda Lee" was published in February by Hyperion.
Travis' latest release is the concert set "Live: It Was Just a Matter of Time," issued in 2001 via Image Entertainment. The 20-track set peaked last September at No. 61 on Billboard's Top Country Albums tally.
