This is How to Get Lorde's Look for Halloween (Exclusive): Rock the Look

Welcome back to’s Rock the Look, where celebrity makeup artists recreate their clients' most iconic, current and covetable looks on a Billboard editor. This week, Michelle Clark, who worked with Lorde way back when right before she won a Grammy, is showing us how to get the singer's classic gothic look for Halloween using MAC Cosmetics

To prep Brittany's skin, Michelle used Matchmaster SPF 15 Foundation in 1.5, blending it in with a foundation brush and beauty blender. To cover up any blemishes and dark circles, she lightly tapped in Select Moisturecover in NC20 (for blemishes) and NW15 (under eyes).

Michelle first started with the eyes, using a soft taupe eye shadow in Charcoal Brown to create a wash across the eyelid. She then smudged the lashline and dotted the lower lashes with one of her all time favorite liners, MAC's Eye Pencil in Coffee, using the 219 Pencil Brush to smudge further for a lived-in effect,  and curled the lashes with Extended Play Gigablack Lash, wiggling the wand from the root up through the lashes. For Brittany's eyebrows, Michelle brushed them upwards and drew in her brows against the grain with Brow Sculpt in Omega, then brushed them back into place with a special tool she found in Paris (but for us at home, the spooled brush on the other end of Brow Sculpt will work.)

Michelle then moved onto the cheeks, lightly contouring with Matte Bronze Bronzing Powder and Select Sheer Pressed Powder in NC45, then tapped in Cream Colour Base in Pearl with her finger to highlight the top of the cheekbone, bridge of nose and cupids bow.

For the most important part (the lips, of course!), Michelle first prepped Brittany's pout with Prep + Prime Lip to mitigate any crinkling or caking, and then went in with Lip Pencil in Nightmoth, starting from the center of the mouth and working outwards to fully line the lip. Then, combining Liptensity Lipstick in Marsala and Hellebore with the 316 Lip Brush, Michelle brushed the two colors onto Brittany's lips, completing the Lorde effect!
