The Weeknd to Kick Off New 'SNL' Season as Musical Guest

Margot Robbie will host the Oct. 1 episode.

The Weeknd is in full promo mode for his upcoming album Starboy, and his next move is Saturday Night Live. The R&B superstar will be the first musical guest of the NBC show's upcoming 42nd season, appearing with host Margot Robbie on the Oct. 1 episode.

This won't be the singer's first time on the show: He was a musical guest in October 2015 and appeared with Ariana Grande to perform "Love Me Harder" in September 2014 and with Future to perform "Low Life" in March.

The Weeknd Unveils 'Starboy' Title Track With Daft Punk: Listen

On Wednesday, The Weeknd unveiled the album title and cover for Starboy, due Nov. 25, followed by the album's title track -- featuring Daft Punk -- overnight.

Robbie has already had a huge 2016, appearing in Suicide Squad, The Legend of Tarzan and Whiskey Tango Foxtrot this year.

No other season 42 hosts and musical guests have been revealed yet.
