Springsteen had just wrapped up a majestic performance of "Rosalita (Come Out Tonight)" when he noticed Matthew Aucoin's sign, asking if The Boss would perform the song "No Surrender" with a "college kid." Since the rocker learned more from a three-minute record than he ever learned in school, he happily accepted the request, beckoning Aucoinn -- who dutifully wrote out the chords and the correct capo position (on the third fret) on his poster -- to grab a guitar.

Aucoin took the stage like a pro, mugging for the camera and singing alongside Springsteen at the mic. Professor Springsteen even stepped aside to let Aucoin sing the lyrics, "I want to sleep beneath peaceful skies in my lover's bed/ With a wide open country in my eyes and these romantic dreams in my head."

To cap it off, Springsteen gave the young guitarist a hug, words of encouragement, and posed for a selfie. "He was good!" Springsteen exclaimed.

Springsteen entertained the audience with 33 songs, including several sign requests from the crowd that included "From Small Things (Big Things One Day Come)," "I'm Goin' Down," "Loose Ends," and "Racing in the Streets."

The evening also included a special appearance by original E Street drummer Vini "Mad Dog" Lopez, who joined the band on tambourine and vocals for "It's Hard to Be a Saint in the City" and "Spirit in the Night."

"This senior citizen to my right was a Mad Dog in 1973," Springsteen joked.
