Robert Randolph Signs With Sony Music Masterworks

Sony Music Masterworks has signed Robert Randolph & The Family Band, which has scanned nearly 572,000 albums during its career, according to Nielsen Music. The act, led by pedal steel guitarist Robert Randolph, will release its first album in three years and will feature guest artists Darius Rucker, Anthony Hamilton and Cory Henry. The album will be supported by a national tour.

Randolph, who has a passionate fan base, made Rolling Stone's list of the "100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time.” The as-yet-untitled album will be his fifth studio effort, having already released Unclassified (2003), Colorblind (2006), We Walk This Road (2010) and Lickity Split (2013). The first three albums were released via Warner Bros. while the latest was under a deal with Blue Note.
