Disney's live-action reboot of The Little Mermaid just got some serious star power. Hamilton creator and former star Lin-Manuel Miranda has signed on to co-produce and write songs for the film along with Oscar-winning composer Alan Menken. Variety reports that Miranda will produce alongside Marc Platt, who is also producing Disney's Mary Poppins Returns, which will co-star Miranda and Emily Blunt.

Menken, known for his scores to such Disney smashes as the original animated The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast and Aladdin, wrote the iconic songs "Under the Sea" and "Part of Your World" for the original Mermaid with the late Howard Ashman. The latest Disney gig for Miranda comes on the heels of news that he's written all the songs for the animated movie Moana, which stars Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.
