Bruce Springsteen's tour in support of his latest Columbia album, "The Rising," will head to Europe for seven concerts beginning Oct. 14 in Paris. The just confirmed trek will also visit Barcelona, where the Boss kicked off his 2000-2001 reunion tour with the E Street Band, and will wrap in London on Oct. 27.
As with the just underway U.S. portion of the run, described by his management as a "barnstorming tour," Springsteen will play just one night in each city. Multiple show runs are expected in major cities in the U.S. and Europe next year, a time when he is also expected to visit Australia.
The 46-city 2002 tour opened last week at the East Rutherford in East Rutherford, N.J., and has played four shows so far. Tonight (Aug. 15), the Springsteen will set the E Street Band down in Auburn Hills, Mich. North American dates will continue through an Oct. 7 show in Buffalo before the European visit, then kick off again Nov. 3 in Dallas.
As reported earlier today, "The Rising" notches a second week at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 after selling an additional 239,000 copies, bringing his two week total to about 764,000 copies. Internationally, the album has topped sales charts in the U.K., Canada, Germany, Italy, Spain, Holland, Belgium, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, and Finland.
