Usher -- a guest at the wedding -- was goaded to the stage at the behest of manager and best man Scooter Braun, Rogers tells Billboard.

"It was sort of impromptu," said Rogers, who used to provide backing vocals for Usher, among other acts. "Scooter Braun came up to the stage and asked us for an Usher song, and we called him out!"

Usher was all too happy to hit the stage to trade verses on the hit, "Yeah," as the bride and groom danced alongside the stage.

"It was an unexpected surprise," he said.

While wedding gigs are lucrative for Rogers, the 38-year old entertainer and his band, B. Random, recently released a six-song EP that's an eclectic mix of pop rock, R&B and alternative, available now on iTunes.

The Los Angeles native said the group was inspired to record a new song, "Civil War," as a current commentary on gun violence and negativity around the country.

The track features Rogers' supple vocals around beautiful lyrics, "There must be something we can do/ a new beginning's overdue," against a marching snare drum.

“It is about coming together and realizing that nobody wins a civil war either way and you lose a part of yourself," he said. “We want to remind people that we are all in this together."
