Before there was Pokémon Go, there was Pokémon, the TV series. And now with Pokémon music streams tripling on Spotify, there is a newfound interest in the original anime TV show that premiered 1998, as well as the iconic opening theme that all fans know by heart. In fact, earlier this month the song jumped to No. 4 on Billboard's Kid Digital Songs sales chart with 7,000 downloads in the tracking period.

English singer-songwriter (and former The Wanted singer) Nathan Sykes took to his piano to cover the song, originally sung by Jason Paige, and tweeted the video out on Sunday. Take a listen for Sykes' moody take on the classic theme.
