Of 3,716 votes, the Seattle band took 16% for their seventh Epic studio album, which is due Nov. 12 from the label. As previously reported, the album will be preceded by the single "I Am Mine," which will next month be shipped to U.S. radio outlets for airplay consideration.
The Wallflowers pulled 14% to land in second place. Their upcoming Interscope album "Red Letter Days" is due Nov. 5, and was produced by one-time Wallflowers guitarist Toby Miller with Bill Appleberry. U.K. outfit Coldplay, which will kick off a tour Sept 4 in support of its forthcoming Parlophone/Capitol album, "A Rush of Blood to the Head," finished in third place with 12%. The album will be released Tuesday (Aug. 27).
Further on down, 3 Doors Down finished with 11 % ("Away From the Sun," due Nov. 12 from Republic/Universal), and tied at 10% were Peter Gabriel ("Up," Sept. 24 via Geffen) and Rage Against The Machine/Chris Cornell (untitled/unscheduled, but will be released by Epic). The Foo Fighters grabbed 9% ("One by One," due Oct. 22 via RCA), while Beck ("Sea Change," due Sept. 24 from Interscope) and Disturbed ("Believe," due Sept. 17 via Reprise) each netted 6%.
Bringing up the rear were the Deftones (untitled, due Nov. 12 from Maverick) with 4% and Queens Of The Stone Age ("Songs for the Deaf," due Tuesday from Interscope) with 1%.
