Josh Groban has released a single from the Broadway-bound Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812 called “Dust and Ashes," giving a taste of his role as the titular Pierre.

Dave Malloy, who wrote the show and originated the role of Pierre, penned the number for the show’s recent staging at American Repertory Theater in Cambridge, Massachusetts, on which the forthcoming Broadway production will be based.

Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812 will mark Groban's Broadway debut. The piece adapts a 70-page section from Tolstoy’s War and Peace about two young lovers. Preview performances start Oct. 18 at New York's Imperial Theater.
