Metalheads, rejoice. L.A.-based Citizens of Humanity and German e-commerce site have teamed up on a denim collaboration heavily influenced by the style of Metallica, set to launch Wednesday (June 15).

Inspired by the heavy metal scene of the '80s and early '90s -- not to mention Metallica’s signature look of a denim jacket paired with distressed jeans -- Citizens of Humanity founder Jerome Dahan and Women’s Creative Director Catherine Ryu worked with the Neiman Marcus Group-owned online retailer to conceive a six-piece collection that captures the fashion synonymous with the genre.

Priced from $408 to $536, pieces range from a sleeveless black denim trucker vest to the oversized denim classic jacket in a light blue wash, and three concert-ready jean styles -- all manufactured at the denim brand’s facility in downtown Los Angeles.

To get an authentic feel for the collection, the team turned to Ulrich’s wife, model Jessica Miller, who was captured wearing the collection in a series of black-and-white images shot by her husband. The pieces also appear in a short heavy metal-inspired brand video by director Danny Sagra (who has also worked with the likes of Marc by Marc Jacobs, Mulberry and Louis Vuitton), which makes its online debut timed to the collection.


The collaboration comes on the heels of another release influenced by Metallica’s trademark style -- earlier this year, critics noted the similarity between the design of the new Yeezus logo for the Kanye West-helmed brand and that of the heavy-metal band.
