Showtime’s new series Roadies follows the crew behind the stage of a rock group called The Staton-House Band as they embark on a multi-city tour. The comedy/drama series chronicles the laughs, romantic rendezvous and the blood, sweat and tears of the unsung heroes behind music's biggest artists. Although it's not set to premiere until June 26, the first episode is now online.

In his first TV series, creator and Academy Award-winning writer/director Cameron Crowe -- best known for his films Jerry Maguire (1996) and Almost Famous (2000) -- executive-produces, directs and writes for the new series. Crowe’s aim is to bring relatable, personal stories to the music industry.

"Over time, I was struck by the fact that Almost Famous spoke loudly to people," Crowe said at the Television Critics Association's winter press tour. "It was a very personal story for me, and I didn't expect it to touch people that way. I wanted to revisit the world of writing about music but in a different and contemporary way … [telling] authentic stories about people behind the curtain presenting music to people every day.”

Roadies will bring together music insiders like Kelly Curtis, Pearl Jam’s manager, as a series producer and features acts like The Head and The Heart; along with Emmy award winning screenwriter Winne Holzman, and Emmy-winning producer J.J. Abrams of the popular series Lost. The series stars Luke Wilson as Bill, a tour manger, alongside Carla Gugino and Imogen Poots.
