Orlando police released the name and a picture of the man who fatally shot The Voice alum Christina Grimmie. Kevin James Loibl, 27, killed the singer, according to a tweet from the Orlando Police Department.

Loibl apparently traveled from St. Petersburg, Fla., to Orlando’s Plaza Live venue, where he shot Grimmie, who was meeting fans following a performance with the band Before You Exit on Friday night (June 10). Grimmie's brother tackled him, and Loibl then fatally shot himself.

At a press conference on Saturday, Orlando Police Chief John Mina said that Loibl had two handguns, two loaded magazines and a hunting knife on him when he shot Grimmie. The killer did not appear to know Grimmie personally and “may have been a deranged fan,” he said.

Grimmie was 22 years old. She competed on the sixth season of The Voice on Adam Levine’s team and was a top 3 finalist. Her manager has created a GoFundMe account to assist the late singer's family in their time of need.

Events at the Plaza Live venue have been "suspended until further notice."
