Watch 'Game of Thrones' Star Emilia Clarke Recite Hanson's 'MMMBop'... in Dothraki
While the world continues to reel over the emotional blows dealt weekly by HBO's Game of Thrones -- which is five episodes into season 6 -- it's nice to know that the stars of the show are at least maintaining their own sense of humor.
On Tuesday's Late Night With Seth Meyers, Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen) tutored the host on the tricks of learning her character's fictional language, Dothraki. Clarke explains to Meyers that it takes "weeks and weeks and weeks" to learn Khaleesi's complicated lines -- and now that she's made it comfortably to season 6 (which is no small feat for a GoT actor), she's come to take some artistic liberties on set. For example, while shooting a co-star's close-up in one episode, Clarke says, "I thought it would be funny if I did 'MMMBop' in Dothraki." She then demonstrates this odd Hanson mash-up to Meyers, which is as jarring as it sounds.
"You can get any song translated into Dothraki for 99 cents," quips Meyers. Watch the full video below:
