The Jagermeister-sponsored $12 Riot Tour, billing itself as a cheap alternative to today's expensive package trek, will kick off Oct. 31 in Randolph, N.J., with headliner Dope alongside Primer 55, Skinlab, and Society 1. The jaunt will run through a Dec. 15 date in Chicago.

"We were really upset that our last album was $18 in the stores and it reminded me of how the kids keep getting ripped off," Dope frontman Edsel Dope said in a statement. "I know that if the bands are willing to do what they have to in order to keep our costs down, we can deliver a killer show to the kids for next to nothing."

Dope will be touring almost a year removed from the release of its second album, "Life" (Flip/Epic), which debuted last November at No. 6 on Billboard's Heatseekers chart. The group is in the midst of recording the follow-up to "Life," and is taking a break for the $12 Riot tour. Primer 55 is coming off a headlining tour in support of its sophomore album "(The) New Release" (Island Def Jam), which debuted in September 2001 at No. 102 on The Billboard 200.

California-based tourmate Skinlab's Century Media album "The reVolting Room" debuted in June at No. 35 on Billboard's Heatseekers chart, while adult film veteran Matt Zane's band Society 1 is recording its Earache Records debut, "Exit Through Fear."
