Father John Misty Provides a 'Whiskey Injection' In His 'Official' Lyrics To 'House of Cards' Theme
Father John Misty likes to do things not because he has to, but because he wants to. So, like that time he sang Taylor Swift songs in the style of Lou Reed (and then deleted them), on Wednesday night he took his House of Cards fandom to new heights.
You see, for four years the popular Netflix series has had a very dramatic, but sadly lyrics-free theme song by Jeff Beal, helpfully titled "House of Cards (Main Title Theme)." But FJM thought it could use a little more spice, so he took it upon himself to write some appropriately dramatic lyrics for Frank Underwood and the gang.
"This hand I've been dealt/ From beneath the deck/ Is it the ace or jack/ It's the dealers bet," begin the unasked-for, but kind of amazing lyrics.

From beneath the deck
Is it the ace or jack
It's the dealers bet
