Never one to shy away from getting the good gossip, Ellen DeGeneres jokingly went after Nick Jonas when he appeared on her show Monday (May 9), asking the singer point blank, "So how is Kate Hudson doing?" in reference to the speculation that arose last week after the two were spotted together at the Met Ball.

"She’s great. We had a group dinner the night before the Met Gala. Lots of people and she was there and I was there. It was a group," Jonas insisted.

Demi Lovato & Nick Jonas Cancel North Carolina Tour Stops Over Anti-LGBTQ Law

DeGeneres also asked Jonas about the decision he and Demi Lovato made to cancel their tour dates in North Carolina this summer to protest the state's passing of its controversial House Bill 2.

"We are very aware of our strong LGBT community fan base and the support they've given us and the support we want to give them," he explained. "And this was a time where I feel like we said we have to make a bold statement, put our foot down and stand firm in something we believe in."
