Leslie Odom, Jr.  and actor, composer Lin-Manuel Miranda and cast of "Hamilton" perform on stage during "Hamilton" Grammy performance for The 58th Grammy Awards at Richard Rodgers Theater on Feb. 15, 2016 in Los Angeles City.

The 2016 Tony Award nominees were announced this morning, and -- to no one's surprise -- Hamilton was a big winner, snagging a total of 16 nominations, a record. While the awards show is already affectionately being called the #Hamiltonys, in reference to how much they're going to clean up, they were far from the only show smiling this morning.

Tonys: Full List of Nominees

Below, get to know all the nominees for Best New Musical; a full list of nominees for all categories is here.

Bright Star
This musical --with music, book and story by Steve Martin --  is a romantic tale set in the American South in the 1920s and 40s. The bluegrass music may make it an outlier on Broadway, but the show is charming audiences.

Hamilton
Perhaps you've heard of the show that counts everyone from Beyonce to the Obamas as fans. The hip-hop meets Broadway opus tells the tale of Founding father without a father Alexander Hamilton. Tickets are sold out through the rest of the year, but the cast album -- Billboard's No. 2 album of 2015 -- is its own engrossing piece of art. Get ready to get obsessed.

School of Rock
Based on the Jack Black-starring movie with music by the famed Andrew Lloyd Webber, School of Rock is upbeat fun for all anchored by Alex Brightman (who just scored his own Tony nod) as substitute teacher/rocker Dewey. Bonus: Kids playing instruments and rocking out. What's not to like?

Shuffle Along
Starring powerhouse Audra McDonald, Shuffle Along: Or The Making of the Musical Sensation of 1921 and All That Followed tells the behind-the-scenes story of how the 1921 musical Shuffle Along came together. The show scored 10 nods, the second-most for any production this year.

Waitress
Based on the 2007 indie movie of the same name with music and lyrics by Sara Bareilles, Waitress tells the story of a small-town waitress with an abusive husband and dreams of a better life. Star Jessie Mueller, who last won a Tony for portraying Carol King in Beautiful in 2014, scored another nomination, one of four the show received.

What show do you think should take home the Tony?
