Google Remembers Prince With 'Purple Rain' Doodle

Following Prince's death on Thursday (April 21), Google honored the musical icon by changing its logo to commemorate his beloved film, album and song of the same name Purple Rain

The tweaked logo -- called a Google doodle -- turns the typically multicolored "Google" text to a rich purple gif with rain drops falling down. 

Google regularly replaces the official company logo with a doodle at its search page. Over the years, Google doodles have honored guitar legend Les Paul, Argentine rocker Gustavo Cerati, pioneering electronic artist Clara Rockmore, the late "Queen of Salsa" Celia Cruz and many more special events and famous people.
