The Rolling Stones have confirmed 15 dates of a planned 22-city European leg of their Licks World tour. The run will mirror that of the band's recent North American leg, which had the band playing a mix of stadiums, arenas, and theaters -- with a unique production and setlist for each type of venue.

So far dates have been announced for summer shows in and around Munich; Paris; Rotterdam, The Netherlands; and London. Additional shows are expected in Switzerland; Copenhagen; Helsinki; Vienna; Hamburg, Cologne, and Leipzig, Germany; Madrid and Barcelona, Spain; Milan; Prague; Belgrade, Yugoslavia; Zagreb, Croatia; Amsterdam; and Marseille, France.

Following another round of 13 North American shows early in 2003 -- which will include a recently added Feb. 8 stop at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas -- the band is planning to visit Australia and Japan in the spring, although dates for that leg of the tour have not yet been announced.

Tickets for London shows at Wembley Arena and the intimate Astoria, and the Twickenham (England) Rugby Ground will go on sale Friday (Dec. 6), according to the band's official Web site. The next day, tickets will be made available for shows in Rotterdam and Utrecht, The Netherlands, followed by Stockholm dates on Dec. 9, and Paris gigs on Dec. 11.
