Louis Tomlinson Says Simon Cowell Was One of the First People He Told About His Son
In January, One Direction's Louis Tomlinson became a father.
And the singer reveals that Simon Cowell was among those whom he initially told about expecting a baby with ex-girlfriend Briana Jungwirth. "Simon is one of the first people I told about my son, Freddie. You can trust him," Tomlinson tells Billboard in a new cover story about Cowell.
And despite the music and TV mogul's reputation for an acerbic tongue and no-holds-barred personality, Cowell has been a nurturing mentor to One Direction, especially when the band informed him they wanted to take a somewhat uncertain hiatus.

“Simon was completely understanding when we told him we wanted to go on a break. Not once did he put any pressure on us,” Tomlinson says. “Most people would’ve tried to give us at least a nudge. But he didn’t. That’s a real reflection of his character. Once you get to know him, he’s lovely and kind.”
