The former American Idol star began tweeting about the single's release overnight on Wednesday, clearly excited to unleash new material on the world as a follow-up to his last album, The Original High, which dropped in 2015. He will also perform the song on American Idol Thursday.

The song is a slow-burn anthem that follows the vibe set out by The Original High, which Lambert is currently on tour promoting, with a final U.S. date set for April 2 in Los Angeles before he heads to Europe for a 15-date summer festival tour.

Yesterday, Lambert shared a behind-the-scenes video for "Welcome to the Show."
