Watch Ellie Goulding Perform Sting's 'Fields of Gold' for the Queen of England
Ellie Goulding took some time from her tour and brought plenty of grace and honor to the Queen of England yesterday (March 14), with a performance at the Commonwealth Day service at London's historic church Westminster Abbey. The "Something In the Way You Move" singer sang a stripped down and acoustic rendition of Sting's 1993 song "Fields of Gold" before the Royal Family and other's at the celebration.
Commonwealth Day is an annual celebration, held on the second Monday of March, of the Commonwealth of Nations, which are mostly countries that were former colonies of the British Empire including Australia, Canada and Fiji. This is the second time Goulding has performed for the English royalty, following her live performance at Kate Middleton and Prince William's wedding in 2011.
Goulding tweeted last week that she is taking some time off from music, but fans can at least enjoy this new cover until she starts cranking out more pop hits.
