Chris Daughtry will portray Judas this Sunday in The Passion on Fox

Daughtry is lighting a fire under the band’s new single, “Torches,” with the release of a new video.

Interspersed with concert footage, backstage fun, time in the studio, and posing for pictures with fans, leader Chris Daughtry sings the song atop a mountain bathed in sunlight as he delivers the song’s uplifting message of spreading positivity.

“The fact that I get to wake up and play music for a living is just mind blowing,” Daughtry shares in one of several voiceovers throughout the clip.

“We’ve done things I’ve never expected,” he muses later, “We’ve traveled to places we never thought we’d see in a lifetime.”

The video arrives ahead of the American Idol Season 5 alum’s appearance portraying Judas in The Passion on Fox. The live broadcast will air on Palm Sunday (March 20).

“Torches” is the new single off of the band’s new greatest hits set, It’s Not Over…The Hits So Far.
