Veteran hard rock outfit Anthrax will issue a new studio album, "We've Come for You All," May 6 via Sanctuary. The set sports guest appearances from the Who's frontman Roger Daltrey on "Taking the Music Back" and Pantera guitarist Dimebag Darrell on the cuts "Strap It On" and "Cadillac Rock Box." It's Anthrax's first album since 1998's "The Threat Is Real, Vol. 8," which debuted at No. 118 on The Billboard 200.
"It definitely sounds like Anthrax, and there are elements from our earlier albums. Creatively, we're on top of our game. We really pushed ourselves," drummer Charlie Benante said in a statement. "In the late '80s, we were pigeonholed into just doing thrash metal. The past couple of years, we've decided to take more chances with our music. On this record, I handled the majority of the music. [Guitarist] Scott [Ian] wrote more lyrics than [vocalist] John [Bush] this time around, and [bassist] Frank [Bello] came up with some really good melodies."
Anthrax begins a 19-date European tour tomorrow (March 5) in Dublin. U.S. dates with Motorhead will get underway in May.
