The all-acoustic show will raise funds for the organization, which aims to protect migratory songbirds through the preservation of traditional coffee-growing methods.
Coffee is the second-most traded commodity in the world, according to the non-profit Foundation, and in efforts to meet demand, many coffee growers in Latin America are switching from traditional "shade-grown" methods to higher-yield "sun-grown" coffee production tactics. The switch affects the natural habitats of many migratory songbirds.
"When we purchase shade grown, organic, and fair trade coffee we are making a choice to preserve habitats for all living things and looking out for the futures of forests, coffee farmers, and their families," Raitt said in a statement.
Tickets for the concert, priced at $50 for reserved seats, go on sale March 28 via Ticketmaster. Special "gold and silver circle" packages are available; call 800-728-6223 for more information.
