Lady Gaga and Taylor Kinney arrive at the 2016 Vanity Fair Oscar Party Hosted By Graydon Carter at Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts on February 28, 2016 in Beverly Hills, California.

Lady Gaga flawlessly performed her Oscar-nominated “Til It Happens to You” alongside sexual assault survivors at last night’s Academy Awards. While Gaga has been an unwavering champion for victims of abuse, she too has braved her own battles.

Last night, Gaga posted a touching photo with her champion, fiancé Taylor Kinney.

“I never thought anyone would ever love me because I felt like my body was ruined by my abuser. But he loves the survivor in me,” Gaga wrote on Instagram. “He’s stood by me all night proud and unashamedly. THAT’S a real man.”
