The annual ceremony in London overnight paid homage to the iconic singer with a presentation which included some impassioned words from Annie Lennox and Gary Oldman, a musical medley of Bowie's hits and a cover of "Life on Mars" from 1971's Hunky Dory, performed by Lorde. Oldman also accepted a Brit Icon award on behalf of Bowie and his family.

It was a different story when Lady Gaga helmed a Bowie medley at the Grammys. Jones later tweeted what appeared to be a dictionary definition of "gaga", which includes the description "overexcited or irrational" and "typically as a result of infatuation".
He wrote, "overexcited or irrational, typically as a result of infatuation or excessive enthusiasm; mentally confused." Damn it! What IS that word!?”
Bowie died Jan. 10 after a battle with cancer. His final studio album Blackstar, which dropped just two days earlier, has been met with critical and commercial success around the globe and gave Bowie his first-ever No. 1 on the Billboard 200.
