From the beginning Justin Bieber has been praised (and occasionally mocked) for his feminine good looks. Whether those long locks and smooth face did it for one personally, they certainly worked their magic on the millions of young fans who propelled Bieber's career into the stratospheric highs it still enjoys today. And apparently they worked for L.A. Reid as well, which, according to the music exec's upcoming memoir Sing To Me, is why Bieber was given a chance at a career to begin with.

The Huffington Post reports that at several points in his book Reid describes meeting Bieber for the first time, back in 2008, when Usher brought the 14-year-old singer to the Island Def Jam Records office. He recalls in detail how Bieber had "grown his hair down almost covering his eyes" and says he "could see immediately that Justin's hair would be every bit as important as his songs, his voice his face, or his presence."

"Justin was simply beautiful," he gushes. "His superpower was his face."

Fans of that face will get a chance to see it perform live at the Grammys on Feb. 15.
