A shocking David Bowie video is nothing too shocking, but there's still something very unsettling about the (very) Thin White Duke's latest clip, "Lazarus."

Bedridden in this clip with a bandage covering his face (buttons take the place of his eyes, which is additionally eerie), Bowie convulses horizontally before standing up to convulse vertically.

The rising-from-near-death scene -- set to the jazzy, slightly Roxy Music-ish song "Lazarus" -- ends with Bowie disappearing into the closet, a place he hasn't been since the very early '70s.

Bowie's new album (pronounced "Blackstar") comes out tomorrow, Jan. 8.
