Guild of Music Supervisors Awards Noms Announced, Honoring Walt Disney Music President Chris Montan

The Sixth Annual Guild of Music Supervisors Awards will take place Jan. 21 at the Theater at the Ace Hotel in Lost Angeles.

The Awards recognize outstanding music supervisors in 15 categories, representing movies, television, games, and trailers. Among the supervisors receiving multiple nominations are Frankie Pine (Nashville), Manis Raval, Tom Wolfe and Jonathan Leahy (Girls), Dana Sano (50 Shades of Grey) and Julia Michels and Julianne Jordan (Pitch Perfect 2).

A number of new categories were added this year, including best music supervision in a documentary, best song/recording created for a film, and best original song/recording created for television.

Chris Montan, president of Walt Disney Music, will receive the first Guild of Music Supervisors Award. Montan, who is responsible for the music across Disney’s properties, including animated films, touring shows and theme parks, has been at Disney for more than 30 years.
