Peter Gabriel Gets Intimate

Tonight (Nov. 21), he will play in Cardiff, Wales, as part of the BBC's Children in Need Appeal.

Peter Gabriel will play two intimate shows this weekend as a precursor to his previously announced appearance Nov. 29 at an AIDS benefit concert in Cape Town, South Africa. Tonight (Nov. 21), he will play in Cardiff, Wales, as part of the BBC's Children in Need Appeal. Other artists participating in the live broadcast include Rod Stewart, Phil Collins and Sting.

On Sunday (Nov. 23), Gabriel and his band will perform for a select group of contest winners at the artist's Real World Studios. The following day, Gabriel will play at the 4,000-capacity Brighton Centre, with support from Real World artist Martyn Bennett.

As previously reported, Gabriel just issued the two-CD retrospective "Hit" and the "Growing Up Live" concert DVD via Geffen, thus fulfilling his U.S. contract with the label. His deal with EMI for the world outside North America will expire after one more album.

According to his official Web site, Gabriel is eyeing a return to the road beginning in May.
