The second season of popular podcast Serial debuted this morning with the story of Bowe Bergdahl, the U.S. soldier who was detained by the Taliban for five years after walking away from his post in Afghanistan in 2009. The first episode, called "DUSTWUN" ("duty status -- whereabouts unknown"), is available now on iTunes and for the first time, Pandora.

Bergdahl is currently facing charges of desertion and misbehavior in front of an enemy from the U.S. Army, and hasn't spoken out about the military's investigation into his conduct until now. In the first episode, he speaks with Mark Boal, writer and producer of Zero Dark Thirty and The Hurt Locker. The new season is also accompanied by a new theme song. As executive producer Julie Snyder told the New York Times, "We wanted to change it because the theme the first year really belonged to that story."
