Soul singer Leon Bridges made his Saturday Night Live debut on Dec. 5 performing songs from his critically-acclaimed 2015 debut album, Coming Home.

Meet Leon Bridges, the Throwback Soul Star-to-Be Who Won SXSW

Bridges, who’s drawn comparisons to Sam Cooke and Otis Redding, used the SNL stage to perform the gospel-tinged "Smooth Sailin'" and soulful “River.” Both tracks appear on Coming Home, which debuted at No. 1 on Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums earlier this summer.

In late November, Bridges had another high-profile television appearance when her performed alongside Macklemore & Ryan Lewis at the American Music Awards.
