James Corden and One Direction play Tattoo Roulette on "The Late Late Show with James Corden" on Dec. 3, 2015.

We're still sweating after watching this clip of One Direction on James Corden's Late Late Show Thursday night (Dec. 4) and we didn't even have any skin in the game...but 1D did.

Corden somehow finagled the boys into playing a game of Tattoo Roulette, in which five boxes were placed before them, four containing the word "safe" and one "tattoo." Whichever unlucky contestant grabbed the latter had to get a tattoo live on the show. If it was a band member, the tattoo would read "Late Late." For Corden, it would be "1D."

Niall Horan, the only member without a single tattoo, was wrought with anguish the entire time. "I don't like this!" he told Corden before they got started. "Neither do I," Corden shot back. Inked-up Harry Styles was expectedly unflappable ("I'm actually fine!") while the already tatted-up Louis Tomlinson told Corden that some new ink is "just gonna be another stupid one, ain't it?"

Watch here to see which of the five gentlemen ends up going under the needle (because yes - it actually happens.)
