Reality star and former NBA player Lamar Odom was taken to the hospital after he was found unconscious at Love Ranch South brothel in Pahrump, Nev., a Nye County Sheriff's office spokesperson confirmed in a statement.

Odom, 35, was found unresponsive and transported by ambulance to an area hospital, with detectives arriving to investigate the scene.

Odom was treated by physicians and then taken by ambulance to Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas. An attempt had been made to airlift him via helicopter, but Odom's stature prevented this from happening.

TMZ was first to report the news. Love Ranch South owner Dennis Hof told TMZ that Odom arrived Saturday and was discovered unconscious in his room Tuesday by a woman.

In his basketball career, Odom played with the Clippers, Heat, Lakers and Mavericks and was most recently waived by the Knicks in July 2014. He married Keeping Up With the Kardashians star Khloe Kardashian in September 2009 and made frequent appearances on the E! show until she filed for divorce in December 2013.
