3 Songs You Need to Hear From This Week's 'Empire'

This season of Empire hasn't been short on drama and memorable moments, but there's one thing we've been missing: legit great songs. Thankfully, Timbaland and Co. provided us with some believable bangers on "Fires of Heaven," this week's episode.

It definitely helped that Timbaland -- the show's musical maestro -- made his first official appearance on not one but two Empire Cast tracks. He even popped up onscreen for a moment during a performance of "Dynasty," the gauntlet-throwing track from Cookie's new label.

Here are the three songs you need to hear.

During an Empire showcase, Cookie and Hakeem busted into the fray and took over the stage to debut probably the hottest track of Empire's second season. Yazz's verses were more turnt than usual, Timbaland himself appeared (onscreen and on wax) and Pitbull even popped up to witness the performance.

"Do It"

Hakeem's multi-cultural girl group hit the studio and the result was the catchiest track from season 2. Becky G -- playing Hakeem's new girl as well as the de facto group leader -- sounds incredible on "Do It." The chorus is a tad repetitive, but the verses are slinky and sensual -- it's a song no one would complain about hearing on the radio.

"Bout 2 Blow"

Yazz and Timbaland teamed up for two tracks on last night's episode. "Dynasty" was the club-burning anthem, and "Bout to Blow" was the more modest but still radio-ready banger. Timbaland is two-for-two on Empire tracks -- he should guest more often.
