Barclays Center's New Billboard Lounge Welcomes VIP Guests at Grand Opening
Select guests at last night's Ariana Grande concert (Sept. 27) got to enjoy an extra-special evening at Brooklyn's Barclays Center as VIPs at the launch of the brand-new Billboard Lounge amplified by Lightpath, the arena's latest addition to its roster of luxury amenities.
Invitees were given the black-carpet treatment pre-show, posing for pictures and sipping on drinks like the lounge's signature "Billboard Lemonade." Queens' own DJ Rob Swift spun a mix of appropriately chart-dominating tracks (think "Lean On" and "Worth It") with a couple throwbacks ("Shake Ya Ass," anyone?) as the crowd mingled in the lounge in front of walls adorned with a few recent Billboard covers.
Given the night's main event, the average age skewed a little younger than one might typically expect at a chic downtown lounge -- but guests young and old were on their feet (and on the plush red banquettes) for "Clique." Barclays Center and Brooklyn Nets CEO Brett Yormark welcomed concertgoers like Scooter Braun to the party, as waitstaff served American classics like grilled cheese and lobster rolls in the shadow of an impressive wall of Ace of Spades champagne.
The lounge will be a new destination for Nets and Islanders season-ticket holders, as well as those attending other Barclays programs, open before, during and after games and select events. For more information on visiting the Billboard Lounge, visit billboardlounge.com.
