Kathy Sledge will not be performing with her older sisters Debbie, Joni and Kim Sledge for the big occasion at the World Meeting of Families in the group's hometown and it's unclear why.

According to a press release sent on Kathy's behalf, "although the performance is being promoted as though all four original members of the group will be in concert, sisters Joni, Debbie and Kim have refused to allow youngest sibling Kathy, original member and iconic voice of Sister Sledge, from participating in the performance."

It also cites a "familial dispute that has long been developing between the sisters."

Kathy originally left the group in 1989 to pursue a solo career, but has occasionally rejoined for one-off special performances and releases since.
