Andy Samberg speaks onstage during the 67th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards at Microsoft Theater on September 20, 2015 in Los Angeles, California.

It's no surprise that the Lonely Island frontman kicked off his 2015 Emmys hosting stint with a song.

Andy Samberg tackled the issue of Peak TV in his opening monologue, a problem anyone with friends is all too familiar with. There is simply too much great television on the air right now -- how do you keep up?

If you're Samberg in a musical number, you park yourself in a bunker (a la Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt) and don't come out until you've watched all the shows. All of them -- even Castle.

Featuring fun cameos by Jon Hamm, Kerry Washington and even an unexpected Will Forte as Javert from Les Miserables -- complete with his suicide, because if you're going to reference Les Mis, it's important to commit -- the tune wouldn't have looked out of place on Saturday Night Live.

Following the opener, Samberg began his live remarks tempering audience expectations: "Justin Timberlake is not coming," he said of his frequent collaborator. With that, on with the show.
