Sporting pastels and a curly red wig, Fallon -- who turned 41 Saturday and recently covered Billboard -- hilariously recreated the classic ‘80s video, in which Richie plays an acting teacher whose blind student sculpts a bust of the singer’s head.

This time around, Fallon impressively belts out “Hello” while Richie sings along while trying keep a straight face as the Tonight Show host portrays the video’s sculptor. Watch the spoof below.

The “Hello” parody arrived just days after Richie announced his upcoming Las Vegas residency, set to begin in April 2016 at The Axis at Planet Hollywood. In what’s proving to be a good year for Richie, the legendary singer and songwriter will also be honored as the 2016 MusiCares Person of the Year.
