Jimmy Fallon might have The Roots (and, so far, the ratings), but Stephen Colbert delivered some true musical magic last night (Sept. 15) when he brought TV on the Radio and Run the Jewels (Killer Mike & El-P) on stage together for a genre-defying performance of "Angel Duster."

"Tonight's musical guest is so hip, their backup band is TV on the Radio," Colbert said by way of introducing the jaw-dropping performance.

Far from the typically awkward rap-rock collaborative fare (i.e., Kendrick Lamar with Imagine Dragons or any number of '90s abominations), TVOTR and RTJ found a common ground slightly outside their mutual comfort zones and created something unforgettable.
