Upon the Aug. 23 announcement that One Direction will be taking at least a year-long hiatus beginning early 2016, Directioners have flooded social media with their depression, denial, and despair. Just a day later, a letter to the British boy band from former *NSYNC member Joey Fatone surfaced, and the frenzy began all over again.

The one problem with their rage? The letter wasn't written by Fatone, as is clearly stated on the article. It's a parody post from Above Average's Joanna Bradley, but it cut too close to home for some 1D fanatics.

The letter is basically a telling of what will happen to the 1D boys as soon as the hiatus begins. "Fatone" points out that other than Harry Styles, the rest of the group is destined for failure. Plus, he takes a direct shot at Louis Tomlinson -- naturally, some fans didn't take that lightly.
