Jemaine Clement and Bret McKenzie of Flight of the Conchords perform as part of the The Oddball Comedy & Curiosity Festival at Shoreline Amphitheatre on Sept. 20, 2013 in Mountain View, California.

It may finally be business time once again.

The long-rumored Flight of the Conchords movie is in the early stages, according to a new Indiewire interview with Jemaine Clement. Clement confirms that he and Bret McKenzie are in the process of writing material for it.

"We have actually started writing one," Clement said. "But who knows if it will ever be made, we've written some notes for some different film ideas. We're not down to the stage where we're going, 'The film is going to be like this.' It could be this, this, this, this, this."

So, not exactly a greenlight, but a positive step in the right direction. In the age of reboots and cross-platform renewal, can we really be far off from more of New Zealand's fourth most popular folk duo?
