Last year, the House of Blues in Anaheim was ranked the seventh most popular venue in America, bringing in 192,424 in attendance from May 1, 2013 to April 30, 2014. After the House of Blues on Hollywood's Sunset Strip's recent closure, the Anaheim, Orange County, location is the only House of Blues in the greater Los Angeles metropolitan area.
Although construction is expected to start within the next few months, the House of Blues has not yet filed an application with the Anaheim Planning Department, the newspaper reports. The 40,000-square-foot space will hold a larger concert hall than the House of Blues' current Downtown Disney location, an open-air patio and bar, a new VIP Foundation Room Club and a small room for intimate performances and special events.

"After 15 years, the number of fans wanting to attend our shows has grown beyond the venue's capacity, so we're excited to now move to Anaheim GardenWalk and expand both our show and guest services while maintaining the intimate atmosphere that we're famous for," executive vice president for House of Blues Entertainment Felix Mussenden told the Register in a statement.
Disney has not announced what it plans to do with its building.
