UPDATE: Despite Alki David's claim that Madison Square Garden severed a verbal agreement to participate in Chief Keef's beleaguered hologram concert, Madison Square Garden denies having ever been involved with Keef and David in the first place.
"We stand by our earlier statement that there was and is no agreement or partnership in any way," an MSG spokesperson tells Billboard. In a follow-up phone call, Alki reiterated his claim.
Keef's concert to raise money for those affected by gang violence has been marred from the start by pushback from many Chicago officials, including Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, who doesn't seem to believe the gang-affiliated rapper has changed his ways. The attempted July 25 concert in nearby Hammond, Ind., was stopped by local police.
