Soren Bryce & Austin Plaine: Hear New Music From Washington Square's Latest Signees
Razor & Tie imprint Washington Square is preparing releases from two of its newest artists, singer-songwriters Soren Bryce and Austin Plaine, following their recent successful campaigns for projects from Donald Cumming and Born Cages.
Eighteen-year-old Soren Bryce has a lush folk sound that belies her young age, showcased on her melancholy new track "Newport," premiering exclusively on Billboard below. "'Newport' is about learning when giving up is the right thing to do," says Soren of the single. "Quitting seems like such a negative word, but sometimes it can be what's best for a person.”
Preorder her self-titled EP, produced by David Kahne (Paul McCartney, Regina Spektor), on iTunes ahead of its Aug. 28 release.
Plaine, who hails from the Midwest, has an approachable, country-tinged style that comes through on his latest release, "Never Come Back Again," debuting below. "I didn't travel much growing up," says Plaine. "But I've always had severe wanderlust. Now I'm at the point where all I want to do is see the world. I think this song is about that."
Looks for Plaine's self-titled album, out Sept. 9, and listen to "Never Come Back Again" below:
