Donald Trump's presidential campaign has gotten off to a rocky start thus far, with his comments regarding Mexican immigrants generating a lot of controversy. Gene Simmons, a former contestant on Celebrity Apprentice, went on CNN Tonight with Don Lemon to discuss his friend Trump's presidential bid, criticizing his views on immigration while maintaining that Trump is a "legitimate, upstanding guy."
The Kiss frontman joked that being asked about presidential politics was like "people asking Jeb Bush about what he thinks of Led Zeppelin." But went on to say Trump has been "ungentlemanly" and is "better and smarter" than his recent comments suggest. "Fear creates all times of havoc. Sometimes it creates hate," Simmons said on Trump's comments. Regardless, he calls Trump a great father, a friend and a "straight shooter."
